Our product has excellent uniformity. Durabide® is a chemically applied composite which covers any geometric surface uniformly. Durabide® is deposited so uniformly that it seldom requires grinding or sizing. We can apply Durabide® coating to tight tolerance levels so that any further machining to bring the product to specification is eliminated. There is no edge buildup which is a common problem in hard chrome plating.

Durabide® coating can be selectively applied to certain areas of a part. Threads and holes are some of the common areas we mask in our customers’ parts. In its as coated condition, the surface finish will be somewhat rougher than it was on the base metal. However, after a light polish the surface finish will return to approximately the original base metal condition. Therefore, in a given application the base metal surface finish should be representative of the desired finish after coating.
